HERMITAGE OF EL MIRÓN AND THE FOUR WINDS VIEW CALLED “DE LOS CUATRO VIENTOS”

A BALCONY TO THE CITY AND THE DUERO

HISTORY

On this place was erected one of the 35 medieval parishes, honouring Santa María del Mirón.

Based in one of the best watch overs to the city, this baroque temple hosts an slender Major altarpiece, on which the Virgin and its niche stand out.

In the little square, where there used to be processions in case of drought, San Isidro de los Labradores is still celebrated.

In the centre there is a column of Churrigueresque style with a bust of San Saturio.

Machado used to walk on this promenade with his wife when she was already very ill.

At the end, there is a monument with its linked silhouettes tribute to the poet and Leonor.

Special opening on May 15 for the celebration of San Isidro and opening Religious Mass schedule. More info about timetables here.
