HISTORY

The convent was founded in the early thirteenth century. In the mid-nineteenth century, the confiscation marched to the nuns leaving the religious compound thereafter for civilian use. It currently houses a municipal park of the same name, the School of Studies of Health Sciences of Castilla y Leon and some facilities for the Prefectures of Defense.

 

THE BUILDING

The interior of the temple XIII century Gothic style, was dismantled after enable it for military use. Today it retains the large size, its structure, made of reinforced masonry with ashlar which highlights the small bell tower located on the main facade. As southern wall of the surrounding park shows one of the best preserved medieval city wall sections.
